June 12th is the celebration of Philippine independence. Coinciding with this event, in the tech world, is the launch of the Vivo Apex Phone, Vivo’s true all-screen smartphone. Freedom for the bezels, I guess?

As reported by The Verge, the long-gestured all-screen bezel-free phone, the Vivo Apex Phone, is due launch next month in Vivo’s big event in Shanghai on June 12. If Vivo moves forward with the launch, it will be unleashing to the consumer market three new innovations, a true edge-to-edge bezel-less screen, an in-screen fingerprint scanner, and a pop-up selfie camera.

Check out the full (rumored) specs list for the Vivo Apex phone here.

  • 5.99” 1080 x 2160 display
  • Android 7.1.1
  • Snapdragon 845 2.2 GHz octa-core

If you’ve noticed in the past few coverages, companies are really all-in on futuristic innovations, and Vivo is no different. If they pull it off, it means great news for the company who enjoys quite a comfortable spot in the middle ground.

Seeing the press that it made pulled from its recent MWC showcase, the Vivo Apex Phone can be the company’s ticket for the big leagues.
