Samsung is Finally Updating Their (Fugly) Emoji
Samsung’s emoji are pretty bad. They’re quirky, yes, but they’re also inconsistent. Something that the world—which as it is, already suffocates from different variations of emoji available—simply wouldn’t have. Emoji is a language unto itself, argues many, so it makes simple sense to align it with the established standard.
That, today, is Samsung’s lesson. And it seems they’ve absorbed plenty, emoji-wise, chief among them is that crackers and cookies are completely different treats, and that—wtf?—they should know better.
Essentially, the change is all about re-aligning with the standard emoji variations of other operating systems and online platforms. The design, this time, is more streamlined, accurate, and conforming. Check out the full emoji library via Emojipedia.
Samsung’s new emoji update rolls out to users who have Android Oreo and Samsung Experience 9.0 running on their phones.
