OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Get Android Oreo Beta Update

by | Jan 3, 2018 | Smartphones

If you own either the OnePlus 5 or OnePlus 5T (and you should!), you’ll be happy to know that the OxygenOS Open Beta for both phones has finally rolled out. In plain English, OnePlus 5T users will finally get the Android Oreo update, which brings forth new features such as Picture-in-Picture, autofill, and smart text selection. View the complete changelog, here.

For users who jumped early on the 5th-gen flagship killer, the update will also introduce to the OnePlus 5 the already beloved Facial ID feature from the 5T. OnePlus’ Facial ID is reportedly fast and reliable, even better than that mounted on the iPhone X. OnePlus 5 will also get the December 2017 security patch, app shortcuts for Recorder, and various fixes or improvements through the update.

In order to enjoy these new features, OnePlus users need to only flash the OxygenOS Open Beta on their devices.
