Microsoft Surface Hub 2 is here to finally take us to the future
Microsoft has unveiled the Surface Hub 2, the new and improved digital whiteboard sequel meant to supercharge productivity in the workspace. The design, this time around, certainly looks very futuristic, making it look like the stuff of science fiction movies.
Perhaps the most key change is the removal of the front-facing camera; users will now need to install a separate webcam in order to take advantage of its conferencing capabilities. To showcase these changes, Microsoft has dropped a new introduction video for the upcoming device.
The device sports a 50.5-inch 4K 3:2 aspect ratio display, which can switch orientations with a slight rotating push. It’s obviously designed for corporate use; the teaser showcases plenty of seamless integrations from cloud storage, Skype calls, and more.
Microsoft’s Surface Hub 2 will be testing a few devices with partners later this year. Pricing details have yet to be released, but considering the crazy-expensive price point of its predecessor (a whopping USD 9,000), the Surface Hub 2 will most likely not come cheap.
