Instagram Shopping Stickers: New update enables shopping on Stories
Instagram Stories grows bigger, not just in the platform’s scale but in the role it plays for influencers and the value it provides for brands. Instagram has been doing a stellar job thus far, and today’s update entails an exciting move for Stories.
Announced via their Press site, Instagram is making its native shopping functionality on the Feed available to the Stories platform, too.
This is great, of course, for influencers, who can link directly to a product listing of a sponsor. Previously, the only linking functionality available to users was the “Swipe Up” button, which is exclusive to ‘grammers that have 10,000 followers and up.
The new feature is already being used in brand accounts such as Adidas and Louis Vuitton, but as of press time, we’ve no information if it will be available for everyone to use regardless of follower count.
We can’t share with you just yet how to add shopping stickers on Instagram Stories, simply because it’s not yet available to everyone. For now, users can enjoy the ability to shop via Stories: when you see a shopping bag icon, you can tap it to reveal the product info and a link to the product.
We’ll update this article as more information emerge.
