by | Jan 29, 2018 | Smartphones

I’m in the process of moving from my trusty Huawei P9 to a hopefully even more reliable Note 8, but while I make the move, Samsung is cooking some pretty interesting stuff. Of course, I’m talking about its upcoming flagships, the Galaxy S9 and S9+, which is due out in just a couple of months. We’re all sorts of excited at the Typist office, so let’s get to our lowdown of everything you need to know about the device.

Both the Galaxy S9 and S9+ Will Sport Face Scanning Tech Called “Intelligent Scan”

Samsung is likely to follow suit with the likes of iPhone and OnePlus, who have managed to put Face Scanning at the forefront. Now, reports are claiming that Samsung is working on a new tech called “Intelligent Scan” which is essentially a rival to Apple’s Face ID. Check out this video for a quick preview of how it works.

It is heavily rumored to have an in-screen fingerprint scanner

OnePlus, Vivo, and Dogee have made it clear that they want to call dibs on being the firsts to embed a fingerprint scanner to the screen of their phones—which they did, rather successfully. Samsung’s Galaxy S9 and S9+ are rumored to sport this kind of feature, but with recent leaks rolling in, I doubt this is a possibility for this generation of Galaxys.
