Globe unveils Disney Life app in the Philippines
Globe is taking Disney’s hand as it forays deeper into SVOD (streaming/video-on-demand) territory. This morning, May 25th, at a launch held in Glorietta 2, Makati, the telco giant has unveiled the Disney Life app. Making the Philippines the first to have it in Asia, Disney Life gives access to hundreds of Disney-owned properties available for streaming.
Globe hosted a quick overview of what the app can do, which closely resembles all the good stuff that makes Netflix’s software great, and then some more.
The Disney Life app lists a bountiful buffet of Disney-owned content, including such staples as Disney animated movies (“Frozen”, “Coco”), Marvel movies (“Avengers: Civil War”), and Lucasfilm (“Star Wars: The Force Awakens”).
On top of that, Disney Life adds a bunch of exclusive extras, including short films, featurettes, and music videos. It even has its own nook for music, which is a huge part of Disney films, at least its animated movies.
Globe at Home subscribers get a 6-month free Disney Life subscription. This applies to existing and new subscribers who are on plans 1299 or higher. Globe has mounted activations (from today, May 25, thru Sunday, May 27) at the Glorietta 2 activity center where patrons can win free subscribers. Admission is free.
Other Globe subscribers get a non-restrictive 30-day free trial. After the trial, users have to pay Php 149 monthly if they want to continue using the service.
The Disney Life app is now available for Android and iOS devices, as well as other staple home devices such as Globe’s own Roku.
