You Can Finally Catch Mew on Pokémon Go
Pokémon Go has been growing since its debut in 2016. Granted, it hasn’t grown as substantially as battle-famished Poké-fans would like (e.g. there’s still no trainer-to-trainer battles!), but there have certainly been welcome updates that the game has made.
This next one is possibly one of those winsome updates.
Pokémon Go is rolling out an update that adds a new daily quest called “Field Research”. These are new aspects that Niantic and the Pokémon Company are trying to add to the game and grants players stamps to complete. When players reach seven stamps, players get to engage in “Pokémon-related activities,” which can potentially lead to legendary battles.
The first Legendary Pokémon that’s catchable through Research quests, it looks like, is the Legendary, Psychic-type Pokémon, Mew.
Similar to Raids, Pokémon Go is going to host “Special Research” events, which will follow Professor Willow taking trainers along to help with his projects. These events are plot-centric, marking it the first narrative-focused update the game has rolled out in a long while.
