The all-new 2018 Macbook Pros are here to get us hypedt

by | Jul 13, 2018 | Laptops

The spec bump alone is a cause for celebration.

Apple tried to pull a Lemonade on the world this week with the surprise release of the 2018 Macbook Pros, perfectly powerful ultrabooks that have more or less the same annoying setbacks as the previous iterations sans the head-scratching lag in the specs department.

This year, Apple made sure you and your auntie knew it’s jammed with an uber-powerful, latest 8th generation Intel Core i7 processor, hefty RAMs and storage options, and impressive Radeon Pro graphics.

It’s a good time to be an Apple fan, seeing the company birth their best Macbook ever. Frustrating, however, are the unseemly quirks that plagued the 2016 version, such as the gimmicky touch bar and a total drought in port selection (Macbooks are monogamous to lightning ports, you see, and you must subscribe to the Dongle Life, babyyy!).

Anyway, here’s a breakdown of the specs of both the 13-inch and 15-inch laptops.

2018 15-inch MacBook Pro’s specs:

  • Six-core Intel Core i7 and Core i9 processors up to 2.9GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.8GHz
  • Up to 32GB of DDR4 memory
  • Powerful Radeon Pro discrete graphics with 4GB of video memory in every configuration
  • Up to 4TB of SSD storage
  • True Tone display technology
  • Apple T2 chip
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID

2018 13-inch MacBook Pro specs:

  • Quad-core Intel Core i5 and i7 processors up to 2.7GHz with Turbo Boost up to 4.5GHz and double the eDRAM
  • Intel Iris Plus integrated graphics 655 with 128MB of eDRAM
  • Up to 2TB of SSD storage
  • True Tone display technology
  • Apple T2 chip
  • Touch Bar and Touch ID

The 13-inch 2018 Macbook Pro starts at USD 1,800 (approximately PHP 90,000) for the base config and the 15-inch 2018 Macbook Pro starts at USD 2,400 (approximately PHP 120,00) for the most basic configuration.
