The First 512GB microSD Card Arrives in February
The world’s first ever 512GB microSD card will drop in February. It’s being brought to us by the good folks at the UK-based company, Integral Memory. This is obviously bigger than what SanDisk was able to cram into their own late last year. And if your device can handle MicroSDXC, you can use the record-breaking 512GB card.
However, not a lot of phones have this support. Yet. For example, Samsung’s terrific flagship, the Note 8, can only handle up to 256 microSD cards. And the transfer speeds aren’t anything to sing about, either. They peak at a decent 80MB/s, which is enough for some heavy-duty tasks, including 4K video recording.
Pricing hasn’t been officially announced yet, but expect that it’s a bit pricier than SanDisk’s already pretty pricey 400GB microSD, which sells at around $250.
