“The Evil Within 2” Turns Into First-Person With New, Free Update
One of last year’s best horror games just rolled out a new, free update. “The Evil Within 2” players will finally officially be able to play the game in first-person mode. This comes after fans snooped around the PC version and found a secret first-person mode—now, Tango Gameworks debuts it officially.
Check out this brief (but spolery!) preview:
According to game producer Shinsaku Ohara, the first-person mode was “more of an afterthought,” furthering: “We like to think of it as a ‘high-level hack’ so we don’t want people to compare this with DOOM or anything like that. There were some scenes that just didn’t work, so it jumps back and forth a bit to third-person. But we made sure the game’s an enjoyable experience and hopefully people will enjoy playing in this mode.”
The game is available on PC, PS4 and XBox One. It’s currently on sale on Steam, retailing at 1,380 PHP instead of its original price 2,760 PHP.
