LG announces its Q7 series, its new midrange lineup with Android Oreo

by | May 22, 2018 | Smartphones

LG wants to release not one, but three new midrange flagships with its LG Q7 series. The spec sheets are promising collectively and individually, but there’s something odd and suspect about releasing three phones to stand-in as the company’s midrange offer.

Allow me to explain.

There’s already the G7 ThinQ, which is a worthy contender a flagship in 2018. Then there’s LG’s K line, which are budget smartphones that pack quite some punch. The prospect of three new midrange flagships is odd to me—why not just release one great phone instead of three that can do virtually the same thing? But I digress.

LG Q7 Philippines: LG releases new lineup of midrange phones

The three new phones, which are being called the LG Q7a, the LG Q7, and the LG Q7+, sport some flagship-like specs, from its 5.5-inch FHD+ full-screen display with 18:9 aspect ratio to its hefty internals from 3GB-4GB of RAM and 32GB-64GB of internal storage. The phones get decent processors as well, beefed with 1.5 GHz – 1.8 GHz octa-core processors, and an Android 8.0 Oreo right out of the box.

Here’s a quick rundown of each phones’ specs.
