Halloween Filters Have Arrived On Instagram Stories

by | Oct 30, 2017 | Smartphones

Instagram is doubling down on Stories. Just last week, a major update introduced live video calls, a feature that will come handy for journalists and reporters who are on the platform. This week, the update is a bit more festive. A host of Halloween filters and stickers and a surprisingly fun “superzoom” effect are now available for Instagram stories.

The former gives users plenty of Halloween looks to choose from, including a vampire mid-transfiguration and a mysterious-looking fog. These filters are accessible in the filters menu (at the time of this writing, it’s located at the lower-right of the app).

Apart from filters, there are also stickers perfect for the season: corn candies, devil horns, and pumpkins, the whole jazz band.

The latter is a camera effect called superzoom and achieves just what the name says it would. When you hold record while in superzoom mode, the app will automatically zoom in on a subject to suspenseful music. It works for both front and rear-facing cameras, so you can superzoom on anything from your goofy face to that weird Bounty Fresh billboard in EDSA.

Take these for a spin; send it to our Insta and mine @armanddc, will ‘ya?
