All Globe and Smart prepaid load are now valid for one year
The change follows through a Memorandum Circular passed earlier this year.
Globe Telecom and Smart Communications have announced separately that all prepaid load credited starting yesterday, July 5th, is valid for one whole year.
“Effective July 5, 2018, all Globe prepaid load, including those with denominations below P300, will carry a one-year expiration period,” Globe said in a statement.
Smart has also announced that the one-year-validity will also apply to all their products, including: Smart Prepaid, Smart Bro, TNT, Sun Prepaid, Sun Broadband Wireless Prepaid, Smart Link, Smart Marino, PLDT Prepaid Landline Plus and PLDT Home.
The move is a follow-through on both telcos express agreement on a Memorandum Circular (MC) passed earlier this year, requiring the companies to make load credits valid for at least one year. Both Globe and Smart took individual action and made prepaid load worth 300 pesos and above are given one-year-validity. Now, both telcos are announcing the validity will finally be applied to all Globe and Smart prepaid load regardless of worth.
This marks both companies’ full compliance with the Memorandum Circular No. 05-12-2017 issued jointly by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC), the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT), and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), extending the validity of all prepaid load to one year.
