Angkas Padala, a New Delivery Service, is now on Beta

by | Dec 19, 2017 | Apps, Cars

We called it. Okay, it was a few hours of “we knew it” glory, but we called it all the same. Angkas is now shifting its gears to becoming a delivery service—for now.

In a tweet, Angkas announces:

What this entails for the company, no one knows yet. But with competitors like GrabExpress and Lalamove, Angkas is put in a pretty precarious situation. Apart from a pretty strong branding and an even stronger community, what edge does Angkas have over the companies I’ve mentioned?

You know what, here’s Angkas’ quick explainer. Maybe it will convince you.

Angkas describes Angkas Padala as “a roadside delivery service, where senders and recipients must meet the biker outside to give and receive items”. Pricing is pretty straightforward, with Metro Manila having a 50 PHP base fare, while Cebu with 20 PHP.

If you still have the Angkas app on your phone, no need to install a new one. The app already has the “Padala” functionalities baked into the app you already have. Otherwise, you’d have to seek the Angkas app out on the Play Store (for Android) and the App Store (for iOS).
