ABS-CBN Mobile is shutting down this year

by | Jul 19, 2018 | Smartphones

Bye, ABS-CBN Mobile…👋

Following the expiration of an agreement with Globe Telecom, ABS-CBN bids its farewell to its own mobile network, ABS-CBN Mobile.

The network was birthed into existence in 2013 when the company partnered with Globe for the exciting thought of the new project being super lucrative. For a good while, ABS-CBN Mobile was poised to be one of the company’s frontline businesses, but in an announcement made recently, it appears their own telco isn’t raking in the top dollar the company has envisioned.

Fast-forward to 2018, ABS-CBN’s 5-year partnership with Globe Telecom has expired and has decided to not move forward with the network. ABS-CBN is now considering other partnership opportunities with Globe (i.e. Globe’s bundled routers with ABS-CBN TV Plus’ KBO).

So I guess that leaves us here, waving our goodbyes to ABS-CBN’s short-lived existence.
